I'm a tennis coach and stringer originally from the Netherlands, now based in Dublin — where I moved for my family, my Irish partner and our two daughters. Tennis has been a constant throughout: I've been stringing for over 5 years and have done 500+ rackets, from club players to professionals.

In Amsterdam, I ran Racketservice Amsterdam and built up a loyal base of players who trusted me with their rackets — including ex-WTA professional Michela Xibilia. Now I've brought the same service and the same standards to Dublin.

Every racket I string gets my full attention. I use a professional Pro's Pro electric stringing machine, work only with handpicked premium strings, and always take the time to give honest advice about what will work best for your game.

A good rule of thumb: restring as many times per year as you play per week. Strings lose tension and elasticity over time even without breaking. But honestly — I'm not the one to tell you what to do. Guess the best way is to try your mate's new strings, see if it makes a difference to you and decide for yourself.

Absolutely — many of our customers play at Dublin's public courts including Herbert Park, Bushy Park, St. Anne's Park, Palmerston Park, Fairview Park, Tymon Park, Corkagh Park, Iveagh Gardens and Eamonn Park. No club membership needed — just bring your racket and we'll take care of the rest.

No — we specialise exclusively in tennis rackets. For badminton restringing, you're best off contacting a dedicated badminton shop.

No — padel rackets have a solid foam core and don't have strings, so there's nothing to restring. If you play both padel and tennis, we're happy to take care of your tennis racket!

The most common "repair" a tennis racket needs is fresh strings — broken or dead strings are responsible for most performance issues. If you're not sure whether your racket needs restringing or something else, send Elmer a WhatsApp with a photo and he'll advise you honestly.

Every racket gets checked before I string it. If I spot existing damage — a crack, a chip, worn grommets — I'll photograph it and let you know before going ahead. Frames can develop weaknesses from impact or age, and stringing puts the frame under tension, so any pre-existing damage tends to show up at that point. It's not caused by the stringing, but I'll always flag it first so you can decide how to proceed. For frames still under warranty, your retailer is the best first port of call.
